Summary of conversation between the teacher and the students in the school. The conversation was taken in TK Aisyiah Bustanul Atfal at Kalirejo. The name of the teacher is Lia and the name of stydent is Ifni. They did conversation in the playingfield of TK Aisyiah.
Teacher : Ifni lagi main apa?
Student : Ini…
Teacher: Ini apa namanya?
Student : Puteran
Teacher: Puteran? Dirumah punya puteran nggak?
Student : Punya
Teacher: Punya, dirumah?
Student : ho’o
Teacher: Punya berapa
Student : Satu
Teacher: Satu?
Student : (keep nodding)
Teacher : Terus dimrumah punya mainan apa lagi?
Student : ayunan sama enkot-enjotan
Teacher : Ayunan, enjot-enjotan, apa lagi?
Student : sama mainan yang kaya gitu gantungan.
Teacher : gantungan?
Student : he’em
Teacher: dirumah ada?
Student : ada
Teacher: bo’ong gak?
Student : (shake of the head)
Teacher : bo’ong gak?
Student : shake
Teacher : Bener?
Student : (keep nodding)
Teacher : dirumah apa disekolah mainannya?
Student : disekolah
Teacher: di sekolah? Dirumah gak ada ya?
Student : engga
Teacher: hayoo.. bo’ong ya?
Student : he..he..he..
Teacher : Ifni dirumah suka main apa?
Student : main rajang-rajangan
Teacher : kacang-kacangan?
Student : rajang-rajangan, masak-masakan
Teacher : oo… masak-masakan, seneng gak?
Student : Mbak rahma? Terus siapa lagi?
Teacher : sama jebal
Student : jebal?
Teacher : Ho’o sama iqbal
Student : kalu disekolah senengnya main apa?
Teacher: senengnya main ayunan, ee yang itu
Student : yang mana?
Teacher: ini
Student : yang satu apa yang dua
Teacher : yang satu
Student : yang satu?
Teacher : (nod)
Student : apa lagi? Terus main apa?
Teache :nil ho… ini
Student : apa, apa itu namanya
Teacher : (shake of the head)
Student : panjat-panjatan ya?
Teacher : iya tingkat-tingkatan
Student : oo.. tingkat-tingkatan
Teacher : he..
Conclusion
In the conversation above, there are some characteristics of teacher talk. For example the teacher use a simple structure but appropriate with the activity. The teacher used the simple structure in order to make the students easy to understand and answer the question,
The teacher presented the new information to the students when the teacher give the information about the name of Bola and some knickknack there are found in playing field.
There are heavy message redundancy when the teacher said “kalau jatuh kepalanya bocor lho dek” it means that they must be careful when they are playing.
The imitation of language that the students has make them use of repetitiveness and paraphrase in their conversation, for example “ Enjot-enjotan, Rajang-rajangan”
The talk is very rich of language, sometimes the students use the Javanese language when they find the unknown words in Indonesian language.
The conversation is also playfulness because it was taken place in the playing field of the school.
The characteristics above, we can conclude that the conversation between teacher and her students is appropriate with the teacher talk.
