TEACHER TALK
IN SMART KIDS KINDERGARTEN
Smart kids Kingdergarten,
Gedung Meneng, Rajabasa Bandar Lampung
Time : 08:03
Date : Monday 1st November 2010
Teacher : Ms. Rini
Students : Fitri, Claudia, Saeka, Dista, Wulan, Elang, Reyhan, Noval, and
Sendy.
The activity of the class, when the teacher teaches the students.
When the teacher asked the student to give hand book to other students.
Teacher : siapa yang mau membantu miss bagiin buku ke teman-
teman?
Students : saya miss saya ( murid saling berebut)
Teacher : wulan sudah, Elang sudah, siapa lagi ya?
Students : Saeka mis…! (murid- murid berteriak)
Teacher : O ya, Noval, tolong Bantu miss bagiin buku ke teman-
temannya ya?
Noval : alama, dan Novalpun langsung membagikan buku- buku
kepada teman- temannya.
Teacher : open on page fourty
Dista : thirty miss ya?
Teacher : Berapa anak- anak?
Students : fourty miss
Teacher : Sekarang mewarnai gambar ya?
Students : ya miss
Teacher : Gambar apa yang diwarnai anak- anak?
Students : Sarden miss
Teacher : Ada berapa ikan sardennya?
Students : Ada lima miss
Teacher : Apa saja yang berkaitan dengan ikan sarden anak- anak?
Students : Nelayan miss
Teacher : Apa lagi?
Students : Ikan miss
Teacher : Apa lagi ya?
Students : Sarden miss
Teacher : ya pinter smuanya, siapa yang suka sarden?
Students Saya miss ( murid- murid saling menyahut)
Teacher : Semua suka ya?
Students : Y miss
Noval : Sarden kan enak
Sendy : Miss ikan saya warnanya kuning
Teacher : Ya
Tiba- tiba reyhan ribut di kelas dan berlari- lari smbil bernyanyi a go go go, kemudian teacher langsung mengajak Reyhan duduk.
Teacher : sudah selesai belum mewarnainya?
Students : belum miss
Fitri : Miss gak maulah capek.
Teacher : Kenapa fitri?
Fitri : Capek ( sambil ngambek)
Kemudian teacher mendekati Fitri, merayu, dan membimbingnya agar mau menyelesaikan tugasnya.
Teacher : Reyhan kenapa kaus kakinya di buka- buka?
Reyhan : Gatel miss kakinya
Teacher : Kalau tidak nyaman dilepas aja kaus kakinya and put on
your bag ok?
Reyhan : Ok miss
Kemudian Reyhan keluar dan meletakan kaus kakinya di tasnya, ketika Reyhan masuk kelas lagi dan duduk ternyata kakinya di atas kursi.
Teacher :Reyhan kenapa kakinya di atas meja?, diturunin saying ya?
Reyhan : Gatel miss( sambil menurunkan kakinya dari kursinya
Teacher : Ini gambar apa anak- anak?
Students : Alat- alat mandi miss
Teacher : Apa saja alat- alat amndi itu anak- anak?
Wulan : Handuk miss
Elang : Sikat gigi miss
Reyhan : Pasta gigi miss
Noval : Sabun miss
Teacher :Ayo bahasa inggrisnya handuk apa?
Students : Towel miss
Teacher : Kalau sikat gigi apa?
Students : Tooth brush
Teacher : Kalau pasta gigi apa?
Students : Tooth past miss
Teacher : Kalau sabun apa?
Students : Soap miss
Di tengah- tengah proses belajar mengajar Elang menyanyi, dan secara tiba-tiba smua murid ikut bernyanyi
Students : Badan sehat (lagu ini di ulang berkali-kali oleh mereka).
Teacher : Sudah menyanyinya?
Students : Sudah miss
Tiba- tiba Claudia maju kedepen dan mengadu kepada gurunya
Claudia : Miss fitri nakal, aku di cubit.
Teacher : Fitri say sorry sama Claudia!
Fitri : sorry( langsung menjabat tangan Claudia)
Teacher : Sekarang sudah selesai semuanya belum? Sekaranag di
kumpul buku dan pensil pewarnanya ya?
Murid tidak menjawab dan langsung mengumpul buku dan pensil pewarna.
Kemudian Guru meminta murid-muridnya untuk menggambar di papan tulis, sang guru menunjuk murid yang duduknya rapi untuk menggambar terlebih dahulu.
Teacher : Ok nice seetdown please!
Murid- murid langsung merapikan duduknya
Teacher : Elang (guru memenggil ), kemudian Elang maju
Teacher : Elang mau gambar apa?
Elang : Gambar mobil miss
Teacher : Y udah
Elang langsung menggambar mobil, dan setelah ia duduk guru menunjuk satu persatu sampai muridnya habis.dan ketika guru meminta Caesa untuk maju Claudia menangis dan ikut maju mengadfu kepada guru.
Claudia : Miss fitri nakal
Teacher : Diapain?
Claudia : Dicubit(sambil mengusap air matanya)
Teacher : Fitri say sorry sama Claudia
Namun Fitri hanya diam dan tidak mau mengucapkan sorry kepada Claudia
Teacher : Y udah kalau gak mau say sorry sama Claudia di hokum
gak boleh gambar didepan,Fitri hanya diam.
Sendy : Miss laper(dengan tiba-tiba)
Teacher : Ya nanti buka bekalnya.
Noval dan Reyhan menyahut
Noval dan Rehan : Miss laper
Teacher : Ya diselesaikan dulu ya tugasnya, dan setelah selesai
mereka dengan tertib membuka bekal masing-masing.
THE CONCLUSION
The conclusion is the teaching learning process in the smart kids Kindergarten is suitable as teacher talk, because in the Kindergarten have some characteristics that is suitable in the second language acquisition books. According to Wong-Filmore(1985) there are some characteristics in teacher talk, that are:
- The talk has clear separation of languages ( no alteration or mixing)
e.g.: In the teaching learning process, the teacher has been clear to explain the material for the students
- The talk emphasize on comprehension, it focuses on communication by:
a. Use of demonstration, enactment to convey meaning
e.g.: the teacher explain about the meaning of word in the book
b. New information presented in context of known information
e.g.: the teacher asked the students about something that have relationship between SARDEN, like nelayan ( fisherman), and ikan (fish).
c. Heavy massage reduncy
- The language used is entirely grammatical, appropriate to the activity by:
a. using simple structure, avoiding complex structures
e.g.: the teacher teaches the students by using the simple structure not complex structure
b. Repeating the use of some sentence patterns or routines
e.g.: the teacher reaped the explanation until the students understand
c. Using repetitiveness, using paraphrase from variation
- The talk use tailoring of elicitation questions to allow for different levels of participation from students.
- The talk has richness of language use, going beyond books, playfulness.
