Preface

Language is way to communicate. By using Language we express our feeling, emotion, idea, comment, n etc to other people. We sometime use formal language to communicate in a formal occasion for the example in meeting or in seminar. And sometimes we use informal language to communicate with our close friend, child, our intimate friend. Language is used not only for oral communication but also in written. We can see the expression of the writer by using reading his writing. If we talk about language we will fine a large and complex to discuss.

Language is interesting topic to discuss. People in each country have their own language, to communicate in world wide we need to know about other language. Knowing other language or foreign language in this case we can know by two way learning and also acquisition. Acquisition knowing language without realizing we learn in. Learning language we realize we learning language.

Baby never learn language but they can produce language. Snow(1994) who investigated the properties of mother’ speech to their children in the first language acquisition study found that children heard fluent meaningful and coherent corpus of linguistic feature which could be used as data for language learning. Krashen (1980) input hypothesis has inspired a large amount of research that attempt to find out the relationship between input and interaction in second/ foreign language learning.

Now in this assignment we will analyze baby talk that use java language. This conversation taped on Oct 30, 2010. this activity will be analyze by several item of analysis so that we will know a little about the baby talk. We hope together that this activity will give us more knowledge. The writer realize that this paper is not complete and good enough to read so critical also comment is needed to be better.

Aura : ga?
Brother : k gax jarene ndue mas? Mas e jeneng e sopo nduk

Brother : ko ga punya? lho yang kuliah iku sopo jeneng e..
Aura : kakak
Brother : ya kakak sopo jeneng e?

Brother :owh lgi bubu? Lha mbak mu sex opo mbak mu
Aura : liat tv, ngosok

Brother : enak ga nduk..
Aura : blum adja nyoba….







Analysis of the conversation

There are several item of analysis in this occasion. The name of the subject is Alisia Aura Mutiara. Aura is four years old. She is student of TK Bustanul ulum first year. She talks bahasa in daily activity but sometime her parent talk in java to give comment or asking something to her.

a) in this conversation aura is asked in java language to know his understanding in java language her language is shorter in replays the asking. She never answer the question in complete sentence.
b) The syntax is simplified trough use fewer subordinate clause.
c) The vocal pitch was higher and if the question doesn’t give her comfortable she will speak loudly. And we will understand that she doesn’t want to answer.
d) The speaking rate was slower, marked by many pauses between utterance, but fewer dysfluencies within them. Aura speak slower if there is some hard word and sometimes stop and think.
e) The articulation was more precise, some time she could not produce sound ( r ) and because java is still be a second language for her she use bahasa for a complicated word in java.
f) The phonologycal feature were simplified. Aura seldom use this term but sometimes she tell word with little error. For example kaus kaki into saukaki.
g) There so many repetition in his talk and sometime she use this repetition to think what will she tell.
h) The use of self reference trough kind ship term instead of pronoun. Aura sometime using self reverence more over if some of her family use error word she give her correction.
i) Mother repetition of their own word and those of children. Yes in the aura’ conversation her brother asking about where is your father? Where is your father . she said sapi.. and her brother replies “owh giving feed to sapi.”.
j) Sometime aura need help to express the word. Like “ apa itu apa it..


We need analyze more about this baby talk in other occasion may be we need analyze baby talk with other baby..
