Analysis the baby Talk
The baby’s name is Andre. He is 4 years old. His mother’s name is Emma. His father’s name is Pangat. And his brother name is Riko. His cousin’s name is Mery.
The first conversation between Andre, his mother and his father
Mother : Bangun jam berapa?
Andre : Jam tuju, jam enam .
Mother : Terus mandi, abis mandi, sarapan pagi.
Andre : Sarapan pagi.
Mother : Pake apa nak?
Andre : Tempe.
Mother : Mandinya sikat gigi gak?
Mother: Abisin…abisin tapenya. Sambil diginiin.
Andre : Hush…hush
Father : Adek.. tadi udah mandi belum?
Andre : Udah…
Father : Dimana…
Andre : Disitu…
Mother : Tempat sapa?
Andre : Mbokde gendok…mbokde gendok..
Father : Sikat gigi nggak tadi?
Father : Pake sabun nggak mandinya
Andre : Nggak…
Mother : Coba udah gede belum? Coba bangun…gini nyampe nggak?
Mother : Nama saya?
Andre : Andre…
Mother : Rumahnya dimana?
Andre : Sini…rumah di batu bata
Mother : Rumahnya di batu bata.
Mother : Hobbynya minum apa?
Andre : Gundos…
Mother : Minum apa?
Andre : Genteng…
Mother : Minum apa..minumnya
Father : Hobbinya minum apa kamu?
Andre : Susu teh teh teh…susu teh teh teh…
Mery : Itu tape apa ndre?
Andre : Tape singkong
Mother : Sapa yang beliin tadi?
Andre : Mamak
Mother : Dimana
Andre : Di pasar
The second conversation between his brother and Mery
Riko : Dek, namamu sapa?
Andre : heh…
Riko : Namamu sapa?
Andre : Mbak Ema.
Riko : Namamu, kamu sapa?
Andre : Andre.
Riko : Namanya mamakmu?
Andre : Mbak Ema.
Riko : Nama bapaknya?
Andre : Pangat.
Riko : A’a nya?
Andre : Riko.
Riko : Adek udah maem belum?
Andre : Udah.
Riko : Pake apa?
Andre : Tempe.
Riko : Enak?
Andre : Enak.
Riko : Adek bisa ngitung nggak?
Andre : Bisa..satu dua tiga sepuluh sembilan
Riko : Coba ngitung coba
Andre : Nggak bisa
Riko : Satu…Tak ajarin
Andre :Nggak
Andre : Satu dua Tiga Empat Lima Enam Tujuh Delapan Sembilan Sepuluh
Riko : Dek kalo gede mau jadi apa?
Andre : Pak polisi
Riko : Kenapa?
Andre : Nembak
Mery : Nembak penjahat ya?
Andre : Ya.
Mery : Bukan nembak burung?
Andre : Bukan.
Riko : Dek,mamak mana?
Mery : Lagi ngapain?
Andre : Bikin bata
Mery : Ibunya bikin bata buat apa ndre?
Andre : Beli genteng.
Mery : Buat apa?
Andre : Buat makan.
Mery : Bukan buat bikin rumah?
Andre : Bukan.
The third conversation between Mery and his mother.
Mery : Pake apa ndre makannya?
Andre : Tempe
Mery : Heh liat sini geh, mau di foto
Mother : Andre udah sekolah belum?
Andre : Belum.
Mother : Nanti kalo udah gede sekolah ya,,mau jadi apa kalo udah gede?
Andre : Pak polisi
Mother : Andre kerja di bata ini cari duit buat apa
Andre : Beli genteng.
Mery : Bukan beli baju?
Andre : Bukan.
Mery : Abisin geh tapenya..
Andre : Tape apa?
Mery : Tape singkong.
Mother : Andre,,, nakal nggak?
Andre : Nggak.
Mery : Tadi makan pake apa ndre?
Andre : Sayur itu..gasa
Mother : Gasa itu apa? Kol paling ya.
Andre : Bukan.
Mother: Itu apa namanya?
Andre : Kopi
Mery : Doyan kopi nggak?
Andre : Doyan..
Moher : Adek senengnya ngeteh ya?
Mery : Susu suka nggak?
Andre : Ya.
Mother : Adek udah mandi belum?
Andre : Udah disini
Mother : Tempat sapa?
Andre : Bibi
Analysis from the three conversation above
Ø We know that sometimes the baby produce the wrong word. The mistake in producing the language is called Slife of tongue. Slife of tongue might be tolerant. For example when the mother asked the baby:
Mother : Rumahnya dimana?
Andre : Sini…rumah di batu bata
Mother : Rumahnya di batu bata.
Mother : Hobbynya minum apa?
Andre : Gundos…
Mother : Minum apa?
Andre : Genteng…
Mother : Minum apa..minumnya
Father : Hobbinya minum apa kamu?
Andre : Susu teh teh teh…susu teh teh teh…
Mother use repetition in order to the baby produce the right form word.
Ø The baby’s brother also used repetition in order to the baby produced the right form word. For example:
Riko : Dek, namamu sapa?
Andre : heh…
Riko : Namamu sapa?
Andre : Mbak Ema.
Riko : Namamu, kamu sapa?
Andre : Andre.
But when the baby received the repetition question from his brother, he tried to produce the right form word.
Ø The baby also produced the word that the parent didn’t understand the meaning of the baby word. For example:
Mother : Hobbynya minum apa?
Andre : Gundos…
Mery : Tadi makan pake apa ndre?
Andre : Sayur itu..gasa
Mother : Gasa itu apa? Kol paling ya.
Andre : Bukan.
The parent didin’t know what is the meaning of “gundos and gasa”.
From the three conversation, we know that the language items of baby will cause difficulty and the errors that the learner will be prone to make. But we can use intensive techniques such as repetition or drills, in order to overcome the interference and establish the necessary new habits.
