Description:

The name of baby that analyzed by me is Pudi Astungkoro.
He is 1year 9months old and a  second child of  a spouse Mr.Subandi and Mrs.Yuliandari.

Analysis:

Based on the transcribe above, the language that used by adult (mother) to her baby have special register known as ‘motherese’ or ‘caretaker’ speech. The findings is appropriate with theory state by Snow (1977) who investigated the properties of mothers’ speech to their children in first language acquisition study found that children heard  fluent meaningful and coherent corpus of linguistic features which could be used as data for language learning. Other studies in first language acquisition (as collected by Snow and Ferguson; and Waterson and Snow) have found that mother’s speech to their children have special register known as ‘motherese’ or ‘caretaker speech’ or caregiver speech’. Interaction between mother and her baby run naturally and most of the mother says or stimulus to her baby is direction. Sentence that mother says has sorter and more complete sentences. For example from the transcribe above: sini dek sini sini, yuk dek ambil, yuk dek main lagi, dah duduk adek duduk, di ulang yuk diulang lagi.
Mother’s repetition of her own words and those of her children to get the more understanding and respond from her child in the conversation. She also uses signal like, confirmation check, comprehension check and clarification request. For example from the transcribe above: pudi says dua then mother repeat pudi’s word to respon, o.. mau dibuka mau dibuka, iya.. then pudi repeat iya to respond the mother’s signal.
Sometimes, mothers expanded what their children said by using additional commentary or adding grammatical inflection. For example in this transcribe: pudi says: “Agil” then mother respond with, “owh, mas suruh ngambil itu loh..
The role of the parents and of all the family becomes more and more important and exerts an influence which has been analysed in detail by language acquisition specialist. It is not a question, as was previously thought, of a simple process of imitation where small children repeat what they hear purely through the use of mimicry. In essence, infants create sounds which are given validity by the reactions of those around them and which gradually become closer and closer to adult language through the production of more and more accurate repetitions.
This is how small babies, who literally juggle with the considerable number of sounds from which all the languages of the world can be acquired, are rapidly led into using only those phonemes which are present in the mother tongue for inventing their ‘words’ and, later on, their ‘sentences’.
